SEED-TO-BOTTLE

Your herbs are grown and products created by people who have a direct relationship with them from seed-to-bottle.

Farmers farm. Manufacturers manufacture. Distributors distribute. Very rarely does one place do it all. Unique to most growers, manufacturers, and distributors, Wilderland has a direct relationship with your herbs from seed-to-bottle. We either harvest our own seeds or purchase seeds from trusted, Certified organic, Canadian partners to cross-pollinate and safeguard our crops from harmful mutations.

We manage the entire tincture supply chain from seed to bottle—right to your door. Doing so, cuts out any middleman costs, and enables us to ensure our customers receive the highest attainable product quality and consistency—delivered by people who genuinely care about both your health and the herb's.

INTENTIONALLY CULTIVATED

Your herbs are cultivated with intention, not unsustainably wildcrafted.

Most of the world's Rhodiola rosea comes from Siberia's Altai region (Russia, China, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia). Natural populations of Rhodiola rosea in this area are wildcrafted, allowing producers to label their goods as "organic." Unfortunately, wildcrafting can be an unsustainable practice that jeopardizes species survival. Now under regulation, Rhodiola rosea is on the IUCN “Red List."

To maintain their livelihoods, many of the Altai wildcrafters harvest other subspecies of "Rhodiola" and sell them as Rhodiola rosea. Rhodiola purchased from major North American brands may not be genuine, and neither the distributor nor buyer are aware. This is why sustainable cultivation is key to protecting the species. When buying herbs it's always important to check the country of origin.

Regenerative farming, "Mount Manure" at Wilderland Botanicals Farm

REGENERATIVE ORGANIC

Your herbs are grown using regenerative farming practices.

We are Canada’s first regenerative organic Rhodiola rosea farm and one of the first in Yukon’s growing regenerative organic farming community.

Regenerative agriculture means we go above and beyond standard organic practiceswhere we revitalize the soil and biodiversity through a number of activities designed to emulate what happens in Nature.

We treat the land and animals who inhabit it with utmost reverence, and we take both pride and joy in doing so!

Whitehorse, Yukon Territories, Canada

NORTH OF 60

Your herbs are grown on a Canadian farm north of the 60th parallel.

Wilderland’s Circumpolar boreal location is strategically positioned in Canada's Yukon, north of the 60th parallel.

The unique combination of altitude, latitude, and longitude make it one of the most ideal places on the planet to grow Rhodiola rosea (our primary crop) and other native botanicals.

Unlike growers south of 60, our farm provides a very similar ecosystem and habitat to where Rhodiola rosea and other native botanicals grow naturally thus emulating their preferred growing environment.

A DECADE+ EXPERIENCE

Your herbs are grown and products created by someone who has over a decade of experience.

While the Wilderland Botanicals brand is young, it is built on a strong foundation of experience. Lauren Blackburn, Wilderland’s Chief Flower Officer and co-founder began using regenerative cultivation practices, growing Rhodiola rosea, and tincturing in 2010.

Lauren transformed these years of learning and herbal wisdom to create the purest, most ethically-grown health-boosting plants available.

Wilderland tincturing formulas and doodles

TINCTURED, NOT CAPSULED

Your herbs are tinctured for you to heal more efficiently and more effectively.

The truth is, tinctures are better than capsules or tablets.

Reason 1: Tinctures deliver significantly higher concentrations of plant medicine in much smaller doses.

Reason 2: Tinctures provide the full therapeutic value immediately and do not need to be digested to start working.

Reason 3: Tinctures retain their medicinal potency for years, whereas capsules and tablets often expire in a few months. We invite you to learn more about tincture!

DISCOVER THE SCIENCE BEHIND TINCTURES

Wilderland Botanicals small batch tinctures

SMALL BATCH—ALWAYS

Your products are artisanal-crafted and infused in small batches.

Hand-grown, handpicked, and handcrafted. Every year we carefully select only the most optimal herbs our farm has to offer.

Produced on-site, our small-batch, artisanal-crafted, "live" tinctures use only three ingredients: fresh harvested, regeneratively grown botanicals, Certified organic ethanol alcohol, and distilled Yukon mountain-spring water.

Every drop of Wilderland Botanicals extract nourishes your mind, body and spirit, and honours the environment from which it came.

SAFE & EFFECTIVE

Your herbs are safe, proven, and effective.

We believe the human body has the natural ability to heal itself. Herbal remedies have been used for centuries; and when used properly, they are safe, proven, and highly effective. Often people choose herbal tinctures as an alternative to or a supplement to their conventional medical treatment because they can provide desired results without the harsh side effects of pharmaceutical drugs.
